Where to go in Bath

	One of our favourites. The menu is designed around fresh, quality dishes that are quickly produced, things are kept simple. Rather than taking bookings, they suggest that you just go along and they will find you a table as soon as they possibly can. If they are completely full there is a nice little bar area for you to relax in until a table becomes free. Un-hurried is the key here.
	The White Hart is one of Bath's best kept secrets..! This is the perfect venue for a lazy lunch or relaxed supper. The Pesto is to die for! We eat here often and send guest after guest. No one has been disappointed! The ethos is "keep it simple" and it works brilliantly. Some of the best chets in the city are working here and the results show in every plate that leaves the kitchen. Bookings are a must.
	This is a family-run restaurant; serving seasonal, carefully sourced, freshly cooked British food; at honest prices; with a relaxed atmosphere; in one of Bath's most beautiful settings. To quote from a review of The Circus Cafe and Restaurant in March 2008 edition of Bath Life: "It may have only opened in January, but you already have to book in advance to make sure of a table. The Circus combines style with affordability, and offers simply presented, top quality food served by personable young staff - everything, in short, that you need from your favourite local restaurant".
	You will receive a warm welcome from Chef Laurent Couvreur and his wife Jill at Casanis Bistro Restaurant, where New York efficiency meets Gallic charm. The ambience is cosily upbeat and the food authentically French, with regional specialities and good gutsy flavours. A place where locals feel at home and visitors feel special.
	A five minute walk from our house is The Marlborough Tavern where you’ll find a warm welcome, freshly prepared home cooked food and friendly service. This is a great pub to dine at, have a quick snack or just pop in for a drink. Lovely sunny courtyard garden for those warmer evenings!
	PizzaExpress in Bath is brilliant. Very friendly staff and consistently good food. They hold a great location right in the centre of Bath just to the right of The Theatre Royal. Very, very good pizza at reasonable prices is still at the very core of what they do.

	The Bertinet Kitchen is a purpose built cookery school that opened in September 2005 in the centre of beautiful and historic Bath. Owned and run by French chef and baker, Richard Bertinet, The Bertinet Kitchen offers a range of relaxed and fun courses for food lovers of all abilities.

	The Royal Crescent was built between 1767 and 1775 to the design of John Wood the Younger, and forms a semi-ellipse of thirty Grade I listed houses arranged around a great Lawn. The famous travel writer Jan Morris once wrote about it, "It lies there in a shallow arc, its wide Lawns running away beyond the Ha-ha down the hill below, and all is suddenly space, and green, and leisure. The Crescent is architecture on a truly palatial scale and reminds many people of Versailles".
	The Jane Austen Centre at 40 Gay Street in Bath is a permanent exhibition which tells the story of Jane's Bath experience - the effect that living here had on her and her writing.
	Bath Abbey is an active Christian church situated at the heart of the city. Founded in 1499, it stands on the site of an earlier Norman Cathedral and the original Abbey Church built in the 8th century.
	Regarded as the social heart of Bath for more than two centuries, the Pump Room is a striking neo-classical salon where hot Spa water is drawn for drinking.
	The Assembly Rooms were at the heart of fashionable Georgian society, the perfect venue for entertainment. When completed in 1771, they were described as 'the most noble and elegant of any in the kingdom'. The Fashion Museum is on lower ground floor.
	Pulteney Bridge, together with the Ponte Vecchio in Florence, is one of the world's most beautiful bridges. Like the Ponte Vecchio it is one of a handful of historic bridges in the world with shops built into it.

The White Hart (www.whitehartbath.co.uk) for a fantastic relaxed lazy lunch followed by a boat trip on The Pulteney Princess (www.pulteneyprincess.co.uk) to beautiful Bathampton where you can visit Hands on Health (www.handsonhealthbath.co.uk) for any number of fabulous treatments.

Once back in Bath either by walking along the canal, on the boat or of course a quick cab ride you can come back to our guest house for a quick change before heading off out for dinner to The Circus Café which is an easy 5 minute walk from us located between The Circus and the beautiful Royal Crescent.
